Frequently Asked Questions
01 If there is no sun for several days, rainy, very windy with an exterior temperature of 5 to 10 degrees, is there hot water?
- Yes, there would be hot water.
02 What is the total equipment cost of hot water for six persons?
- Approximately about 4000 euros, taking into account the subsidies offered by each regional community of Spain and from the European Union.
03 Is the labour installation of PST equipment costly?
- No, it has a calculated sum of 300-400 euros for the installation of only one panel. An estimated installation for six persons.
04 Is it necessary to have an installation of special pluming?
- No, simply connect the thermal to the hot water network or substitute the old.
05 Can this system be used as central heating?
- Yes, preferable with radiant floors, floors with aluminium radiators and convectors.
06 Must the panels be installed on the roof?
- No. they can be placed on the façade or in the clothesline patio and it is not necessary they are protected from wind. Our Solar PST panels withstand rain, wind and sun.
07 Are the panels able to heat water in a pool or great consumptions of hot water?
- Yes, see the section; great consumptions.
08 Must the roof plate be reinforced or is a quantity surveyor project design necessary for the installation?
- No, considering it weighs only
09 If I install an equipment with two panels, does it heat more rapidly?
- No, it doesn’t heat more, but the result of heating at
10 Is much space taken up by the thermo accumulator?
- No. The thermo accumulator of
11 Is electric energy also produced?
- No, only hot water.
12 Must the panels be placed in a particular manner?
- Yes, they must be facing the south and with an inclination between 75 and 85 degrees.
13 In the event of a leakage, is it hazardous?
- No, it is 100% ecological and non-toxic.
14 Is regular maintenance necessary?
- No, only if a leakage is caused by a crack.
15 What is the gas service charge in the event of a leakage?
- Less than 100 euros, it covers the labour and service cost.
16 In a situation where there is an expected large consumption of water or a thermoaccumulator breakdown, what happens?
- The Solar PST thermoaccumulator (domestic hot sanitary water) has an electric support that operates on a manual mode in the case of a power failure or in the event of an extraordinary consumption of hot water.
17 Is a special outlet or support necessary?
- No, just a simple plug, the type a small refrigerator uses.
18 What distance must the thermoaccumulator be installed far from the panel?
- The maximum distance is 10 mts for an equipment of one thermoaccumulator with one panel. The distance may vary up to 25 mts depending on the big equipment.
19 Is there a guarantee?
- Yes for 2 años the compressors and 15 years the panels.
20 Is it a high cost source of electric energy?
- No providing there is a standard electric installation the consumption will be 1.790 w. whereas our PST solar panels consume merely 390w.
21 Are there subsidies available for regional communities?
- Yes every regional community offers subsidies for this type of energy installation alternative. For instance: the Community of Madrid 2,400 euros for installation, Galicia and others, 50% of their investment.
22 What material are the panels and equipment made of?
- The panels have 30 micro of anodised aluminium, a storage space of stainless steel and a coating of PVC.
23 Are the panels installable in high mountains where there are very low temperatures?
- Yes, although it would function as a conventional solar panel. It only would heat when there is sun, and without endangering the freezing the system.
24 Is it possible to change the panel colour?
No, we don't recommend to change the colour as it is more efficient with its original opaque black colour .
25 Does this equipment operate as a heating pump?
- No, because a heating pump requires mechanical ventilation with an enormous consumption of energy and causes blasting and hammering environmental contamination.
25 Is this equipment standardized?
- Yes, with the numbers 73/23 CEE and 93/68 CEE.
